New e-guide: Top Tips for selling stock photography
The folks at toptipsto.com have asked if I would write another e-guide - this one on stock photography. My goal would be to create a roadmap for people interested in the editorial digital photography market - a guide showing how to make money shooting digital photos, taking the pictures you want to take, done on your own schedule, satisfying your own creative urge while making something marketable.
It’s the best of all worlds for a photographer like me. I don’t do weddings (been there, did that once, never, ever again); I don’t do portraits; and I’ve done advertising, but it is much too intense for my tastes. I want to shoot subjects that interest and challenge me, but in a low-pressure environment. If the pictures come out bad, no one will ever know; if they are good, I want to try to sell them. That’s where editorial stock photography comes in.
If you’re interested in that market, I’d like to hear from you. Your questions will help me write a better guide, so fire away. It will be a fun project, and I hope one of value for people interested in using their digital cameras to create marketable photos.
